Wes Anderson's next film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, not only features an all-star cast — Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody, and Tilda Swinton, oh my! — it promises a dizzying fantasia of surreal humor and even more surreal(ist) art direction. Anderson has a knack for making sets come vividly alive as anthropomorphized characters in their own right, and the floridly pink Grand Budapest certainly looks like a place where people go to bury their problems — among other things. It's the structural equivalent of the old woman in pastel hot rollers who knows everything about everyone in the neighborhood — her hair is, ahem, full of secrets. And, so is this hotel.
